Barn conversion
Monmouthshire
Stonework on a barn conversion in Monmouthshire, in lime mortar with stone from the site and reclaimed flagstone cills.
Rather than modern concrete cills, reclaimed flagstone keeps the character of the building, with a stub cill behind each window.
In the July heat the team started at 5:30am and kept the freshly laid stonework covered in hessian and misted down, so the lime could cure slowly and bond properly.
